someone mentioned april fools today, and it reminded me that last year a couple of radio DJs got taken off the air and almost faced felony charges because they told their audience that the local water supply was contaminated with “Dihydrogen Monoxide” and alot of people panicked
Dihydrogen - (two hydrogen)
Monoxide - (one oxygen)
some guys almost got arrested for telling people there was water in their taps.
Anonymous asked: Salutations! I've just found your blog and you seem pretty cool! I would like some advice and I find it best when you ask someone whom you don't know. I hope you can help in someway... I have this friend who I think may be gay but I don't know if I should ask him about it. He's not obvious or anything, but I want to help him feel more confident about it if he does turn out to be gay. Any suggestions? Should I wait for him to come to me?
What I have always done in this situation is make it obvious that I was an ally to the LGBT community. When he’s around, stick your next out and show that you accept gay people, and, as your friend, he might decide that it would be a good idea to tell you.
Pay attention to how he’s always acted. Has he ever had a girlfriend? How did that go? Does he even talk about girls or remark on them when someone else does? Watch who he looks at and what type of people (other than you) he hangs around with. I don’t know anything about him, but there are some small little habits that are usually signs about someone’s sexuality. In fact, all my friends already knew I was gay before I told them just by little things like how I carried myself and how I conversed with boys.
I wouldn’t straight out ask him - unless he is an incredibly confident person, able to take a joke if it turns into one, and a close friend. If you’re wrong, it might be insulting somehow. If you aren’t, you may make him self-conscious or worried that he’s being obvious.
Just watch and show that you’re a good friend. If he is gay then you’ll find out eventually one way or another.
for every 50 notes this gets i’ll read a chapter of this book:
